Barry Thorogood - Managing Director

On the summit of Tryfan

Job Role:

Susie Shannon

It’s my job to organise everything! So if you have any questions phone me on 01286 660 921 and I will sort you out! (In the nicest possible way)

I am a 44 year old mother of 2 boys, and have 2 wonderful grandchildren. I keep fit and look half my age. Well, that’s what they tell me!

I started my Admin career as a Medical Secretary in a Liverpool hospital. I then worked as a Legal Secretary in Liverpool until I moved to Wales. I have been living in Wales for the last 15 years. I worked as an Emergency Operator for BT in Bangor and was promoted to Trainee Manager with eventually a team of 16 people.

I then came to work for Team International as PA to Barry. I have since worked my way up to Operations Director. Basically I am a benefit babe from Liverpool who has made good!

I have GCEs in English Literature, English Language and Art and CSEs in Spanish, Mathematics, Biology & Science and a GNVQ in Ceramics where I did an Art Foundation course. I have CLAIT Levels 1 & 2, an ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) and a motorbike licence!

I am also qualified in Outdoor Pursuits: 3 Star Canoeing and I have a black belt in Shotokan so don’t mess me about when you organise your courses!

I have just been awarded BSL (British Sign Language): Level 1 so you can phone me on the videophone with the sound off and I will still understand you.

Volunteer work: Fundraising for Greenpeace, Minutes Secretary for Freshfields Animal Rescue.

My favourite pastimes are reading, films, walking, canoeing, horse riding, ice-skating, motorbikes and climbing.

I live in a log cabin on the beach next to the Office so I wake up to the sound of the sea and can see cormorants, oystercatchers, a resident seal and the occasional dolphin from the office window. Also it’s not far to walk to work!
